Harmony
Harmony is the forest’s response to your actions. It starts at 0 and is separate from Renown. Your standing appears in the action bar while you are inside the biome. Peaceful time inside adds one point per minute, up to +10. Outside, negative Harmony recovers one point every two minutes, stopping at 0; positive Harmony is retained.
| Harmony | Standing | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| +10 | Friend of Lothlórien | Friend prices, special animal interactions and healer care |
| 0 to +9 | Guest | Ordinary welcome; stock follows Renown |
| -1 to -14 | Uneasy | Wary wildlife, rank-0 stock and higher prices |
| -15 to -29 | Shunned | Trading and teaching are refused |
| -30 to -60 | Hated | Wardens attack on sight; trading and teaching are refused |
Killing an ordinary animal costs 3 penalty points, a white deer 6, a unicorn 10, and another player 3. Starting a fight with an elf or warden costs 1; killing one costs a further 6. Defending the forest is free: killing monsters, the animals they ride, or players the wardens are hunting never lowers Harmony. Elf and warden deeds count anywhere. Other deeds count when you or the victim are inside the forest. Village decks and the ground beside or beneath them count as forest, even where a village reaches outside the forest biome.
Each penalty point removes two Harmony while your value is positive, then one once it is zero or negative; an odd positive value can step below zero. A deed restarts the recovery timer. Chopping wood, picking flowers and planting acorns do not change Harmony in this version.
Death normally retains your standing. Dying inside the forest while Hated moves you to -29, Shunned. Wildlife alarms can still override a food lure: see each inhabitant’s care guide before approaching.
To improve village stock, earn Renown through lessons and requests. Your current standing separately controls trade access and prices.
