Elven Rope

Hang Elven Rope against a wall. New pieces fill downwards first, then upwards; using rope on a connected run extends it. Jumping or moving forward climbs, while releasing those controls lets you descend. Sneak to hold your height. Breaking a piece or removing its wall brings down the connected strand for recovery. Levitation or Slow Falling icons can appear while you use the rope; see known issues.

Wood and controls

Use an axe on Mallorn logs or wood to expose the golden heartwood; the two plank families have their own recipes. Matching slabs combine into double slabs. Doors, trapdoors and fence gates can open by interaction or redstone; matching double doors open together. Wind charges also toggle these controls and press nearby buttons. Arrows and tridents can hold Mallorn buttons down. A hand-pressed button stays powered for 1.5 seconds; pressure plates supply power while occupied.

Fence gates lower when placed between supported vanilla walls. Mobs do not open or break Mallorn doors. The wood set has no signs or hanging signs with editable text and no storage shelf.

Water and support

Both wood sets’ single slabs, stairs, fences, gates, doors, trapdoors, buttons and pressure plates can be waterlogged. Mallorn leaves, Elven Rope, Deer Antlers and the four lantern, chandelier and firefly-jar lights also survive in water; the lights remain lit. Solid wood, double slabs and Star Canopy block water.

Water breaks flowers, herbs, ferns, Nectar Blooms, corn, saplings, Great Mallorn sprouts, blossoms and leaf carpet. Collect or protect these before flooding an area. Mounted decorations and plants also break when their supporting block moves away, including movement by a piston. Rope can bring down a whole connected strand.

Ordinary building blocks can be collected by hand or with any tool; an axe speeds up wooden blocks. Ordinary Mallorn leaves and Nectar Blooms need shears or Silk Touch to collect themselves. Golden leaves, Golden Fern and Star Canopy can be collected by hand. See the item pages for harvest yields and other uses.

Boats and reuse

Mallorn and heartwood boats carry two riders; their chest variants carry one rider and a 27-slot inventory. Place them on water, use a lead for towing, and cut the lead with shears. The resource pack’s settings offer a more detailed boat appearance through the “Prettier boats” option.

Logs, planks, stairs, slabs and rope burn for 15 seconds as furnace fuel; a Mallorn boat burns for 60 seconds. Mallorn planks cannot repair vanilla wooden tools in an anvil.

Crafting rope returns one empty glass bottle. Miruvor returns four and Star Canopy returns three; the recipe cards show these alongside their main output.
